"Transforming Spaces: A Stunning Tahuhu Installation by Johnny Moetara"

Last year, in 2023, Sam and I studied at the Gisborne Whirikōka Campus of Te Wananga o Aotearoa. There, our tutor and renowned local artist Johnny Moetara secured a commission to create an installation featuring a 'tahuhu' panel on the ceiling ridge connecting the office spaces. He designed the graphic and asked us to laser cut the design. Johnny then framed the 20 panels, which were installed along the apex of the roof with LED lighting behind the green acrylic panels. The outcome was stunning and the owners were thrilled.
